Ethicon VICRYL is a synthetic absorbable braided surgical suture manufactured from polyglactin 910 and coated to enhance handling characteristics and reduce tissue drag during passage.

This USP 4-0 violet suture is supplied in a 45 cm length and armed with a single-armed 22 mm Conventional Cutting PC needle with a 1/2 circle curvature. The conventional cutting needle is specifically designed for controlled penetration of tougher tissues such as skin, supporting precise wound edge approximation and consistent placement.

VICRYL sutures are absorbed by hydrolysis, providing predictable loss of tensile strength as healing progresses while minimising tissue reaction. The braided structure ensures excellent handling and dependable knot security. Each suture is sterile, single use and supplied in boxes of 12 for professional hospital and clinical use.
