Ethicon VICRYL is a synthetic absorbable braided surgical suture manufactured from polyglactin 910 and coated to enhance handling characteristics and reduce tissue drag during passage.

This USP 5-0 violet suture is supplied in a 75 cm length and is armed with a single-armed 16 mm Conventional Cutting needle with a 3/8 circle curvature. The conventional cutting needle is designed for controlled penetration of tougher tissues such as skin, supporting accurate wound edge approximation and consistent needle control.

VICRYL sutures are absorbed by hydrolysis, providing predictable and gradual loss of tensile strength as healing progresses while minimising tissue reaction. The braided construction delivers excellent handling and dependable knot security. Each suture is sterile, single use and supplied in boxes of 12 for professional hospital and clinical environments.
