Ethicon VICRYL is a synthetic absorbable braided surgical suture manufactured from polyglactin 910 and coated to improve handling characteristics while reducing tissue drag during placement.

This USP 6-0 violet suture is supplied in a 45 cm length and is armed with a single-armed 13 mm reverse cutting needle featuring a 3/8 circle curvature. The reverse cutting needle positions the cutting edge on the outer curvature, reducing the risk of tissue cut-out while enabling controlled penetration of tougher tissues such as skin.

VICRYL sutures are absorbed by hydrolysis, providing predictable and gradual loss of tensile strength as healing progresses while minimising tissue reaction. The braided construction ensures smooth handling and dependable knot security. Each suture is sterile, single use and supplied in boxes of 36 for professional hospital and clinical environments.
