Ethicon VICRYL PLUS is a synthetic absorbable braided surgical suture manufactured from polyglactin 910 and coated with an antibacterial agent (triclosan) to inhibit bacterial colonisation of the suture surface, helping reduce the risk of surgical site infection.

This USP 0 violet suture is supplied in a 90 cm length and is armed with a single-armed 40 mm blunt point dolphin needle with a 1/2 circle curvature. The dolphin blunt point design is intended to reduce needlestick injury risk while allowing controlled passage through soft tissues such as muscle and fascia.

VICRYL PLUS sutures are absorbed by hydrolysis, resulting in minimal tissue reaction and predictable tensile strength retention during early wound healing. Each suture is sterile, single use and supplied in boxes of 24 for professional hospital and clinical environments.
