This USP 1 violet suture is supplied in an extended 150 cm length in an unarmed configuration, allowing clinicians to select an appropriate needle separately or use the suture for ligation, tying and soft tissue approximation where a needle is not required.

VICRYL sutures are absorbed by hydrolysis, resulting in gradual and predictable loss of tensile strength as healing progresses.
