Ethicon VICRYL is a synthetic absorbable braided surgical suture manufactured from polyglactin 910 and coated to improve handling characteristics and reduce tissue drag during placement.

This USP 4-0 violet suture is supplied in a 45 cm length and is double-armed with two 13 mm reverse cutting needles featuring a 3/8 circle curvature. The reverse cutting needle design places the cutting edge on the outer curvature, reducing the risk of tissue cut-out while enabling controlled penetration of skin and tougher tissues.

VICRYL sutures are absorbed by hydrolysis, providing a predictable and gradual loss of tensile strength as wound healing progresses. The braided construction delivers excellent handling and dependable knot security. Each suture is sterile, single use and supplied in boxes of 12 for professional hospital and clinical environments.
