LuxSutures LUXAMID Nylon Veterinary Non-Absorbable Surgical Sutures are monofilament synthetic sutures manufactured by LuxSutures from polyamide (nylon 6.0 or 6.6), designed to provide dependable long-term wound support in veterinary surgical procedures.

The smooth monofilament construction ensures low tissue drag, minimal capillarity, and reduced tissue reaction, while the blue colouring enhances visibility within animal tissue during placement and knot tying. As a non-absorbable material, LUXAMID nylon provides high tensile strength and secure knot performance, making it suitable for procedures requiring prolonged mechanical support.

Although classified as non-absorbable, LuxSutures LUXAMID nylon sutures are gradually encapsulated by connective tissue. The suture mass diminishes by approximately 10% per year due to slow hydrolytic rupture of chemical links, allowing long-term presence without rapid degradation.

This LuxSutures LUXAMID variant is supplied in USP 4/0 size, with a 100 cm length, and is presented in a cassette format for controlled dispensing during veterinary surgical procedures. The blue colour reflects the nylon monofilament construction.
